A man who grew up in Tulsa is back in town for the signing of a new book chronicling the Hurricane Katrina disaster. David Spielman is a professional photographer who has been living in New Orleans. Once Katrina hit, Spielman stuck around and started documenting his daily life through pictures.
"I lived there. And, umm, I'm a photographer; I'm not a hard news guy. So I wanted to take pictures of what I thought was happening to my city. So you'll notice in the book it's a lot of architectural stuff, it's a lot of structural things that, um, show you the juxtaposition and the oddness of what a storm and its power can do," said Spielman.
Spielman was born and raised in Tulsa. While he's home he'll celebrate his 40th reunion at Central High School.
