Due to the ever-rising gas prices, people like Sarah Casey are taking another look at scooters.
"Gas is real high, and I'm a single mother trying to put my daughter through college, so anything I can do to save money I'm going to do," said Sarah Casey.
"She was looking at a Buddy, which is a 150cc four-stroke. They're really fast little scooters. They can get up to 70 miles per hour but they also get gas mileages in the 80 to 100 mpg range," said Nathan Gray, Tulsa Scooters sales.
And riders tell of another benefit, the high smiles-per-gallon.
"Just riding somewhere it's fun," said Robin Kester. "You actually want to go on errands, you try and find excuses to go out because it's nice out."
And, while it won't entirely replace her car, it will provide Sarah with a fuel-efficient alternative.
"It wouldn't be something I'd drive all the time, just something to get me down the street, here and there, go to the grocery store," said Sarah Casey. "It's basically just saving money. That's what we have to do."
