Drowning Victim Recovered

The body of an 18-year-old Stroud resident was recovered Sunday afternoon in an area below Grand Lake Dam. 

GRDA spokesperson Justin Alberty says Chalin Worthy was below the dam in a park area known as "Little Blue" taking pictures of water being released below the dam. 

Alberty says Worthy slipped and fell into the water and didn't resurface. 

The GRDA Lake Patrol and deputies from the Mayes County and Delaware County Sheriff's office conducted a search and helped in the recovery of Worthy's body.

Worthy's body was recovered approximately half a mile downstream from where he fell in.
