Former Mayor Draws 10 Years In Prison

A former Haskell mayor was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Wednesday.

Charley Smith pleaded no contest to a first degree manslaughter charge in Wagoner County earlier this year. 

Smith was charged in October 2006 in connection with the death of Dr. Shawn Lee. The Coweta chiropractor was killed in a car accident. 

Smith was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol following the accident.
