Donations For Ailing Man Stolen

In Carter County, efforts to help a man fighting a mysterious disease have brought out the best in some people. Unfortunately, they also seem to have brought out the worst in others. The News On 6's Gan Matthews reports some donations to help have disappeared.

This was one of Casey Clinton's good days. Since last year, a disease, the country's best doctors can't seem to diagnose, has ravaged his body.

In January a fundraiser at Clinton's church raised several thousand dollars. That helped pay for his treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona. But, a fundraiser in February at the Lone Grove Moose Lodge had a different ending. Casey Clinton says about a thousand dollars raised disappeared.

After he discovered the money was never deposited in the account set up for him in an Ardmore bank, Clinton went to law enforcement.

The Carter County Sheriff says an investigation has identified two possible suspects.  The sheriff says they are working to solve the case.
