There is more legal trouble for the parents of a Chelsea toddler found dead last month. The couple was busted for drugs and are now behind bars in the Rogers County Jail. The News On 6's Ashli Sims reports both could face felony drug possession charges.
Chelsea Police say they discovered drugs at Patricia Folk and Richard Card's home the same day their 23-month-old child was found dead.
Marshall Card was just three days shy of his second birthday. Police were called to his Chelsea home on April 25th and found him unconscious and not breathing.
Patricia Folk and Richard Card have not been arrested for the 23-month-old's death, but police do call the circumstances suspicious.
The Chelsea Chief of Police told The News On 6 the day Marshall died officers found a significant amount of marijuana in his home. But, he said investigators waited to arrest the couple for the drugs until after they buried their child.
Both Folk and Card are in jail on complaints of possession of drugs in the presence of a minor and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The couple's other three children were taken into protective custody last month.
