Lorena Ochoa's the best player in the world. Pamela Ontiveros might be her biggest fan.
The bond between Ochoa and ORU golfer Pamela Ontiveros goes way beyond their Mexican roots.
"It's an honor to know her," said Ontiveros. "She's still been the same person. I think that's a quality a number one player needs to have."
"I'm following her," Ochoa said. "I'm always trying to help her. I think I'm there for her as a friend."
At the SemGroup Championship, it was Pamela following Lorena. Hole-by-hole, shot after shot, letting every single moment sink in.
"Watching her play gives me motivation," said Ontiveros. "If you have a dream just fight for it and you can be playing on the LPGA Tour. It's nice to see her play golf and see her attitude. Every time I see her or talk to her I learn a lot."
Soon Pamela would like to be on the other side of this rope playing alongside her pal Lorena.
"My goal is to go pro," said Ontiveros. "My first goal is to finish super good at ORU, then graduate and keep practicing. Then someday, probably next year I would love to be here playing."
"I think it's important for her to finish her career, she has one more semester. So I recommended her to finish that and then think about a professional life," said Ochoa.
In a friendship forged by the game of golf, they'll be rooting for each other for years to come.
