Some Tulsa kids learned a lot about ancient Greece this year. On Thursday, students at Regent Preparatory School put on togas and demonstrated their knowledge of Greek Mythology for parents. Fifth graders at Regent have been studying the Greek gods and the writings of Plato.
"We strongly feel that the sooner they're introduced to the primary text from history, the sooner they'll be able to think and to answer basic metaphysical questions about reality. Who am I? How do I know? Where am I going? What do I value," said Phillip Shaw, Regent Teacher.
Students did a little Greek dancing and participated in a Greek Olympics complete with javelin throw and chariot race.
