Ten students and six teachers from Hoover Elementary are leaving Thursday morning for China.
NewsOn6.com anchor Margaret Stokes sat down with the travelers Wednesday. Stokes reports the entire elementary school was cheering their fellow peers and teachers as they prepare to travel to the Far East.
Margaret sat down with the 10 students; dressed in their bright "I Love China" gear.
In order to qualify for the trip, the group of 4th and 5th graders and their parents wrote essays, and the best were chosen to be on the "China Team."
This opportunity is part of a partnership program with a school in China.
The group received a proper send off with banners and signs created by the students to show how much they'll be missed at school.
The students were eager to tell Margaret all about what they will see, eat, what to expect while they are abroard and how they have prepared.
"We've been studying the school, what they do there what kind of food they eat and learning about all the words you say," said Tonry Robert, 4th grade student.
