Severe weather blew through McIntosh County on Wednesday night and left at least one family homeless.  Trees were split, windows blown out and one home destroyed.  The News On 6's Ashli Sims reports it happened in the town of Hanna which is about 20 miles south of Henryetta.

"Twenty-three years of working hard and this is what I've got, a pile of trash," said Mickey Burns.

Burns picked through the rubble with a flashlight and a heavy heart.  He wasn't home when the storm hit, but he says his grandchild came close to being in the middle of this mess.

"This boy right here had just got out and ran to the house. The big home up here and that's when it hit," said Burns.

"I heard the hail and my husband told me to get in the back. So, you went into the bathroom? I laid over my four kids and my trailer house," said Lisa Cannon.

Cannon lives next door and she saw the storm barreling down the street.

"Little bitty pencil like thing it touched down in the road and came right across," said Lisa Cannon.

The wind picked it up Burns trailer and threw it several yards, flattened it. Now the insides are on the outside.

"It could have been a whole lot worse, I coulda lost my family. I coulda lost my grandkids. But I didn't. And I thank God for that," said Burns.

Burns says not only was his trailer destroyed, but the roof of the main house was also punctured. The weather head stripped an electric pole split in two.

"I don't know. When you live on a fixed income what do you do? Where do you go?" said Burns.

Despite his despair, even in the face of such destruction, Burns says he's pulled himself up before and he knows he will do it again.

Hanna's high school gym also had some roof damage and a number of houses had their windows blown out.
