Sand Springs Police say they have located a person of interest in that city's first homicide since 2006.
Assistant Police Chief Mike Carter tells Newson6.com, Daniel Thomas was being sought for questioning in the homicide of Anthony Johnson.
Carter says Thomas was located Tuesday morning. He says Sand Springs Police are are making arrangements to talk with Thomas and are hoping to move forward with his help. Carter also stressed that Thomas is not under arrest at this time.
On Monday, a construction crew moving rocks for the Sand Springs Park Department found Anthony Johnson's body near an abandoned walking trail in the 1600 block of North McKinley.
Police say the victim had been shot several times.
Sand Springs hasn't had a homicide since December of 2006. Before that, the last homicide was in November of 2004.
