Tulsa Zoo Friends are hoping Oklahoma motorists will want an Oklahoma specialty license plate featuring the Tulsa Zoo.
Tulsa Zoo Friends members have chosen three zoo animals to be featured on the license plate design and now the public is being asked to visit the Tulsa Zoo website and cast their vote for their favorite design.
Officials say the new license plates will become the first-ever zoo specialty state license plate.
Tulsa Zoo officials say they need to receive 500 pre-paid applications by March 31st, in order to meet state requirements and make the plate the latest edition to Oklahoma's specialty plate collection.
Each plate costs $37, of which $20 will directly go to benefiting the Tulsa Zoo.
All applications and check payments can be mailed to: Tulsa Zoo Friends c/o License Plate Project, 6421 e. 36th St. North, Tulsa, OK 74115.
For an application and more details on the zoo plate project, visit the Tulsa Zoo website or call 918-669-6635.
