Students at the University of Tulsa held a different kind of Super Bowl party on Sunday. They're not watching for the game, instead they're checking out the commercials.
TU Professor Bill Hinkle has been doing this for years and now it's part of the university's new advertising program. Students write down all the commercials aired during the game and then critique them. But, it's not just about whether the commercials are funny.
"We all know it's gonna be funny and there'll be some great spots and we're all gonna laugh. What we'll talk about in class is were they effective enough to be able to get someone to do something or to buy something," said TU Professor Bill Hinkle.
On Monday, The News On 6's Rick Wells will talk with Hinkle to find out how this year's commercials compare to last year's.
