NEW YORK (AP) -- Former Walt Disney company chairman Michael Eisner says the Hollywood writers' strike is, in a word, "stupid."
Michael Eisner says the writers shut down production on dozens of television shows for money that won't be available for years: revenue from the Internet.
The former Walt Disney executive suggested it would have made more sense for the union to make a better deal on current technology, say, a bigger share of DVD sales, and wait for the Internet market to develop.
Michael Eisner heads a company that has already had an Internet hit: the teen soap opera `Prom Queen.'
"We made history, " he told the conference. "But we didn't make any money."
