Visitors from across the globe helped serve the Green Country community on Tuesday. Teenagers from Serbia traveled thousands of miles to take part in an exchange program at Booker T. Washington High School. For many, it's a chance to temporarily escape the reality of living in a war-torn region.
The students got a lesson in community outreach. They toured the Salvation Army's Center of Hope and even helped out in the soup kitchen.
â€We're here to explore diversity. And, because the subject of our program is tolerance in multi-ethnic society. We've learn so much in this week and half,†said Una Erdeljan of Serbia.
The exchange students are also learning how American teens have fun.
