SEATTLE (AP) -- Ray Allen? Gone. Rashard Lewis? Gone. The Seattle Sonics? They could be gone, too, after this season.

The turnover of players -- even with rookie stars Kevin Durant and Jeff Green -- means the Sonics are likely to struggle as they rebuild under new GM Sam Presti and coach P.J. Carlesimo.

The Sonics are building for a future that may not be in Seattle where the Oklahoma City owners have been unable to persuade government leaders to help build them a new arena. The team has set a deadline of Wednesday for an arena agreement and apparently, nothing is in sight.

What could be a frightful season starts on Halloween at Denver.

The home opener is Thursday night against Phoenix.

Seattle missed the playoffs last season with a 31-51 record, fifth in Northwest Division. They had a 2-6 record this preseason.

Seattle may start guards Luke Ridnour and Kevin Durant, forwards Wally Szczerbiak and Chris Wilcox and center Robert Swift. Top reserves are Nick Collison, Earl Watson, Damien Wilkins, Kurt Thomas, Delonte West and Jeff Green.

Durant missed the last two exhibition games with a sprained left ankle and hopes to be ready for the opener.
