A Warning For Wildfire Victims

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is warning fire victims not to fall for insurance scams, saying crooks are trying to take advantage of people at a vulnerable time.

Meantime, he also says officials are continuing to hunt down arsonists.

Soot and dust from this week's wildfires has been making the air quality bad in Southern California Saturday. Satellite pictures show thick smoke hanging over the region, as a number of major fires continue to burn. Health officials are advising residents to avoid exerting themselves.

Wildfires in three counties are still threatening about 23,000 homes. In San Diego County, only two of the five major fires are more than 50% contained.
