A Sand Springs bank became a drive-thru on Tuesday, literally.

A customer at the American Heritage Bank, located at West 38th Street and U.S. Highway 97, drove through a wall at the bank at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

“It's kind of interesting when we you have a vehicle come through the front doors,” Sand Springs Police Sergeant John Tillman. “They didn't know what was going on at first and they were understandably shook up.”

“If somebody had been inside the foyer at that time they could have some serious injury,” Tillman said.

Luckily, no one was injured.

Police say the man was pulling up to park when he mistakenly hit the accelerator and crashed through the glass entry.
