OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The cost of a round of golf is going up at Oklahoma City's public golf courses.

The Oklahoma City Council Tuesday morning approved a City Golf Commission recommendation to raise the fee from $18 to $20 per round at each of the city's four public golf courses. The fee will go up again to $21 a round in 2009.

The Golf Commission says the increase is an effort to raise an extra $750,000 for personnel, supplies and equipment at the public courses.
