NEW YORK (AP) _ Senator John McCain says it's possible Congress will hold another hearing on steroids in baseball.
McCain said on ``The Dan Patrick Show'' that Congress quite often goes in for a little headline grabbing, then it moves on because its attention span is rather short.
McCain said it was a mistake not to include Barry Bonds in the March 2005 hearing that featured Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa and Rafael Palmeiro (ra-fee-EHL' pahl-MEHR'-oh).
However, the Republican presidential contender says he doesn't think that congressional hearings are especially necessary until baseball investigator George Mitchell issues his report.
Team officials have been told that Mitchell likely will issue his report on steroids in baseball by the end of the year.
