MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) _ The Tulsa basketball team is picked to finish fifth in Conference USA in a preseason poll of conference coaches.

Defending champ Memphis is the unanimous choice to win the conference after going 16-0 in the league last season, reaching the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament and returning all five starters.

Memphis guard Chris Douglas-Roberts is the preseason conference player of the year.

Houston is picked to finish second, UAB is third and Southern Mississippi is fourth.
