ARDMORE, Okla. (AP) -- A 19-year-old Wilson volunteer fireman pleaded guilty to four arson charges and was sent to a boot camp for young adults. Conroe D. Vernon entered the plea Wednesday before Associate District Judge Lee Card.
The judge committed Vernon to the Delayed Sentencing Program for Young Adults, which includes a six-month long boot camp sponsored by the state Department of Corrections.
Vernon was arrested in mid-August along with two other 19-year-olds.
The three were taken into custody in connection with a series of arsons, burglaries and vandalism in the Wilson area. The other two remain free on bond, pending court cases.
