A natural gas line break in downtown Tulsa prompted the evacuations of several buildings for about hour Wednesday morning. Tulsa Fire says the break was located just south of the intersection of 3rd and Elgin. Fire officials say a backhoe at a street construction site on 3rd Street damaged a 4-inch underground medium pressure natural gas line causing the gas leak.
The break closed several streets around the break while firefighters and ONG crews worked to stop the flow of natural gas.
No injuries were reported.
