TOKYO (AP) Venus Williams advanced to the semifinals of the Japan Open today with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Alicia Molik.
The top-seeded American needed an hour and 33 minutes on court to get past the Australian.
Williams is seeking her fourth title this season after winning the Korea Open on Sunday.
