CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) _ A strained right elbow kept Carolina Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme from participating in Wednesday's practice and his status is uncertain for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay.

Delhomme was injured when he was sacked late in the third quarter of Sunday's win over Atlanta. He played into the next series and was replaced by David Carr after wincing in pain following a short pass.

Carr took over helped snap a tie by leading Carolina on two scoring drives. He'll start against the Buccaneers if Delhomme can't go.

Linebacker Dan Morgan and guard Jeremy Bridges also sat out today's workout. Morgan is nursing an ankle problem and Bridges has an injured toe.
