FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) _ Atlanta's Pro Bowl cornerback says he has been fined $100,000 for last week's meltdown against the Carolina Panthers. And DeAngelo Hall says he may be suspended for the first quarter or first half of Sunday's game against the Houston Texans.
Hall isn't pleased with the decision and plans to appeal through the NFL Players Association.
The 0-and-3 Falcons acted quickly after their defensive star was called for three penalties totaling 67 yards on one possession, then got into a heated sideline confrontation with coach Bobby Petrino (peh-TREE'-noh) and an assistant.
The penalties led to a Carolina touchdown that tied the game at 17 in the third quarter. The Panthers went on to win the game 27-20.
Petrino confirms a decision has been reached on disciplining Hall, but he won't discuss the details.
