A local school bus driver is out of a job after police find him out of his clothes on a bike trail. It happened Monday evening at Turkey Mountain in West Tulsa. News On 6 anchor Omar Villafranca reports the 23-year-old man is in jail and in serious trouble.
Every afternoon riders hop on their bikes to cruise the trails on Turkey Mountain. The trails slice through the woods making the ride scenic and challenging for riders, but in certain parts of the park beer cans and condom wrappers show some people use the area for more than trail riding.
On Monday evening, an off-duty Tulsa police officer riding his bike came across Cody Lowery, standing naked on the trail. According to the arrest report, Lowery told the officer this was his first time on Turkey Mountain, and he wanted another man to perform a sex act on him. Lowery was taken into custody and booked on a complaint of indecent exposure.
Tulsa Public Schools released a statement saying Lowery "submitted his resignation to his supervisor early Monday," before the incident happened.
TPS says all potential employees go through a criminal background check and Lowery's record was clean before this incident.
Lowery had worked for Tulsa Public Schools as a bus driver for almost two years, driving students to and from Memorial High School and Byrd Middle School. TPS says, "There is nothing to indicate Cody Lowery's current personal situation ever had an impact on Tulsa Public School children."
Lowery's last day was suppose to be October 4th, but Tulsa Public Schools says he has been dismissed from work.
