OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ An attorney for a corporate pilot for Love's Country Stores who's at the center of a police bribery probe says he had no knowledge of the alleged plot. The Oklahoma City-based convenience store chain has suspended pilot Jeremy Robert Stapley while the matter is under investigation.
Edmond police officer Andrew Andrade and retired officer Christopher Caplinger are facing criminal charges in an attempt to bribe another officer.
Prosecutors allege Caplinger contacted fellow Edmond officer Danny Austill through an intermediary in June to see whether Austill was willing to miss an August 22nd hearing in exchange for up to $1,000.
But Stapley's attorney, Irven Box, says Stapley had no knowledge of any alleged arrangement for bribery by the police officers.
