OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Republican presidential hopeful Tom Tancredo brought his campaign to Oklahoma on Saturday, the congressman from Colorado praised Oklahoma's anti-illegal immigration law during a visit to Oklahoma City. Tancredo is a longtime advocate of stronger laws aimed at illegal immigration.

The Oklahoma law passed earlier this year sets criminal penalties for knowingly and willingly harboring illegal immigrants. It also prohibits public benefits to illegal immigrants except in cases of medical emergencies or emergency aid. And businesses must run all workers through a federal verification system or risk penalties and legal action.

Tancredo also went to Norman to mingle with fans at the Oklahoma-Miami football game then left for Tulsa and fundraisers Saturday night.
