The medical community celebrates a birthday Tuesday. Hospitality House of Tulsa opened a year ago as a home away from home for families of patients in a medical crisis. Over the past year, it's helped hundreds of families from Oklahoma, as well as 15 other states and two foreign countries.
"Our families are so grateful. When they check in they're exhausted, they're usually sleeping in the waiting room chairs or in their vehicles, or they're making two and three hour trips back and forth to try and be close to their loved one," said Toni Moore, CEO Hospitality House of Tulsa.
Hospitality House is funded by private donors, churches, corporations and foundations.
