UNDATED (AP) -- Hot, dry weather will return to Oklahoma Sunday as a high pressure system filters into the area.
The National Weather Service says a cold front that brought heavy rain to the state stretched from the Great Lakes region down into the Oklahoma Panhandle Saturday. But it was forecast to move east of the state Sunday and there was only a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Hot and dry weather will return to the state with highs in the mid to upper 90s on Sunday and Monday. Lows will continue in the upper 60s to mid 70s.
A more significant chance of showers and thunderstorms will return to the forecast by mid week as a second cold front drifts toward the area.
