OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Gold medalists and world champions from gymnastics and figure skating will perform together in a choreographed show as a part of Oklahoma's centennial celebration.
The ``Skating and Gymnastics Spectacular'' at the Ford Center on October 14th will cap a weekend that will include the Oklahoma Centennial Regatta Festival on the Oklahoma River and a Centennial parade in downtown Oklahoma City.
Among the figure skaters scheduled to perform are 2006 Olympic gold medalists Evgeni Plushenko of Russia and Shizuka Arakawa of Japan.
The event's featured gymnasts will include 2004 Olympic all-around gold medalist Paul Hamm of Waukesha, Wisconsin, and his brother, Olympic medalist Morgan Hamm.
Olympic gold-medal gymnasts Bart Conner and his wife, Nadia Comaneci, along with Rosalyn Sumners and Todd Eldredge are hosting the event.
The regatta festival -- set for October 11th throught 14th -- will include the USA Rowing World Challenge that will feature top international rowers and the annual Head of the Oklahoma regatta.
