NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- The National Weather Service says Sunday's heavy rains in the Oklahoma City metro area set two records. The weather service says 3.82 inches of rain fell at Will Rogers World Airport to break the record rainfall for August 19th. The previous record was .87 inches recorded on August 19th, 1977.

The amount is also the most rain to fall on any one day for the month of August. The previous record rainfall was 3.17 inches set on August 22nd, 1934.
