Kohl's kicked off its drowning prevention program by donating more than 60,000 water watcher tags to Saint Francis Hospital. Adults wear the "Be a water watcher" tags around their necks as a reminder to watch from the poolside.
Doctors from Saint Francis told visitors that drownings happen in a matter of seconds and that it only takes two-inches of water.
"And everyone thinks someone else is watching the poolside, and we will unfortunately have a child that is not a particularly strong swimmer, and no one really keeps track of where they are, and then someone finds them at the bottom of the pool,†said Dr. Virginia Powel.
Doctors also say there's no sound to warn anyone of drownings, so it's critical to always keep an eye on children.
