MARBLE CITY, Okla. (AP) _ The superintendent of a Sequoyah County school district who is charged with embezzlement is being ordered to stay away from the school. Marble City Superintendent Larry Couch was ordered to avoid the school by a judge after state Superintendent Sandy Garrett asked the courts to remove Couch.

A hearing is scheduled for Friday in Sequoyah County District Court.

Garrett says she filed the court motion because the school board took no action against Couch.

Couch was charged nearly three weeks ago with taking about $100,000 from the school and court documents say he's admitted taking the money.

Marble City is north of Sallisaw in northern Sequoyah County and the school has about 160 students in kindergarten through 8th grade.
