Sunny skies, combined with heavy air pollution has prompted the state Department of Environmental Quality to issue an Ozone Alert for Thursday in the Tulsa area. It will be the third consecutive Ozone Alert day in Tulsa.
Meanwhile, an air quality health advisory remains in effect for about a dozen counties in central, eastern and northeastern Oklahoma. The advisory means smog in the air can make it unhealthy for sensitive groups, like those with asthma or other respiratory problems.
You can help reduce pollution by:
Limiting your driving
Avoid mowing with gasoline powered mowers.
Fill up your gas tank after dark if possible.
Carpool, the fewer cars driven the better.
Ride the Bus, it is 50 cents on Ozone Alert Days.
Ride your bike to work.
Telecommute if possible.
