IRVING, Texas (AP) -- Being in Texas is a surreal and somewhat painful reminder for the Denver Broncos.
The last time Broncos were in the area together was for the funeral of a teammate.
The team earlier this year traveled together for the funeral of Darrent Williams of Fort Worth.
The 24-year-old starting cornerback was shot in the neck after leaving a nightclub in downtown Denver.
That service was in Fort Worth, not far from where the Broncos are practicing this week with the Dallas Cowboys.
The teams play a preseason game Saturday at Texas Stadium.
Coach Mike Shanahan says any time you have a young man that passes away at 24 years of age; obviously it's a very tough situation for every member of this team.
Broncos safety John Lynch, going into his 15th NFL season, said he still thinks about Williams every day.
