TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Tulsa moves closer to division-leading Springfield with a Texas League victory over Midland in Tulsa.
Duke Sardinha led the Drillers with two RBIs and Jonathan Herrera, Christopher Frey, Aaron Rifkin and Jordan Czarniecki all had one apiece Monday night.
Sardinha plated a run with a bunt in the sixth inning and an RBI double in the eighth put the game out of reach for the RockHounds.
Bryan Snyder had a two-run single in the sixth for the RockHounds, who fell to 19-and-29.
Drillers starter Ryan Mattheus (9-8) allowed three runs on seven hits to pick up the win.
Kevin Deaton (0-1) lost, surrendering five runs on eight hits in seven frames.
Tulsa improves to 24-and-24, now a half-game behind Arkansas and one-and-a-half games behind Springfield.
The Drillers get a night off before traveling to Texas to play Frisco.
