STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) -- The seemingly unrelenting heat that's led to warnings and advisories in Oklahoma is being welcomed by Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy.
With the Cowboys going through two-a-days Gundy says the players need to become accustomed to the heat in preparation for the September 1st season opener at Georgia.
The temperature in Athens, Georgia, Thursday set a record at 102 degrees. It was 97 in Stillwater.
Gundy says the players become a little sluggish and fatigued but are giving a good effort.
Extreme Oklahoma heat can land a person in the hospital, even worse someone could die. For more on heat related illnesses including symptoms and treatments, click here.
