OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- State health officials say a northeast Oklahoma man has become the first person in the state to die this year of West Nile virus. State epidemiologist Doctor Kristy Bradley says the man was older than 65 and lived in Miami. His name hasn't been released. This is the third confirmed case of West Nile virus in humans this year in Oklahoma. Previous cases were reported in Oklahoma County and in Woodward County.
Health officials say pools of mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile in Tulsa, Pittsburg and Payne counties.
