UNDATED (AP) -- The heat's on in Oklahoma. The National Weather Service has issued a heat warning for much of eastern Oklahoma through Sunday as temperatures exceeding 100 degrees are forecast for the region.
Forecasters say high pressure will dominate the state's weather through the end of the work week. Hot and humid conditions will continue with highs ranging from the mid 90s to 104. Lows will be mostly in the upper 70s to low 80s.
The hot and humid weather will yield high heat index values over the next few days. As a result, an excessive heat warning remains in effect for much of eastern Oklahoma through the weekend.
Oklahomans who are planning to be outdoors should take precautions, especially during the afternoon and early evening hours.
