UNDATED (AP) -- Temperatures could climb into the triple digits in Oklahoma this week as a warming trend continues across the state.

The National Weather Service issued an excessive heat warning for portions of northeast Oklahoma from 10 a.m. tomorrow through 7 p.m. Sunday, August 12th. Hot and humid temperatures were expected throughout the week as an upper ridge remained firmly in place over most of the state.

Sunny skies and daytime highs in the mid to upper 90s are forecast for Monday, with mostly clear skies continuing tomorrow night as temperatures drop into the 60s to upper 70s.

Highs will continue in the upper 90s on Tuesday under mostly clear skies, except for the Panhandle, where there is a slight chance of showers late in the day.
