JAY, Okla. (AP) -- A Grove man accused of fatally shooting his father has been returned to the Delaware County Jail after a brief escape.
Twenty-four-year-old Mark Henry Thurman is charged with first-degree murder in the 2005 death of Bob Thurman of Grove.
Thurman was reported missing shortly after 7 p.m. Sunday. Captain Robert Rowley says he was captured without incident about 30 minutes later after a Jay resident reported seeing him walk across his yard wearing orange pants but no shoes or shirt.
Rowley says Thurman escaped when jail employees were in a pod picking up trays from the evening meal.
Thurman's being held without bail in the Delaware County jail on the murder charge, his trial date expected to be set next week.
