One Dead In I-44 Crash

One person is dead, another injured following a Thursday afternoon crash near 11th and Garnett. <br/><br/>Police say a Buick and a truck collided under the I-44 overpass just before 4 p.m. Thursday.

One person is dead, another injured following a Thursday afternoon crash near 11th and Garnett.

Police say a Buick and a truck collided under the I-44 overpass just before 4 p.m. Thursday. It appears the driver of the car was trying to turn left when the driver of a Dodge pickup t-boned the Buick, killing the driver. A female passenger in the car was also injured, police said. She was taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck, who was not injured, was taken into custody for a blood alcohol test, but police say there was no indication he was impaired.
