LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Two Oklahomans lead the way Saturday as the Los Angeles Dodgers rally to beat the New York Mets 8-6.
Brad Penny of Broken Arrow became the first starting pitcher to open a season 12-1 for the Dodgers since the franchise moved to Los Angeles in 1958.
Meanwhile, Matt Kemp of Midwest City hit a three-run homer in the fourth inning to key the Dodgers' comeback from a four-run deficit.
The only other pitcher to start 12-1 for the Dodgers since the exodus from Brooklyn was reliever Phil (The Vulture) Regan, who won 14 of his first 15 decisions in 1966.
Penny's only loss this season was a 9-1 drubbing by the Angels down the freeway in Anaheim on May 18th.
On Saturday, he allowed four runs and six hits in 6-and-one-third innings while winning his seventh straight decision.
Penny started the Dodgers' comeback with a double in the third inning and later scored. He is batting .263 and has a 2.42 ERA.
