ADA, Okla. (AP) -- An Ada woman who says she accidentally stabbed her 17-year-old son to death while she "playfully" waved a knife at her husband is now charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter.
Connie Haines is charged in the July 9th death of Chris Carpenter.
Initial reports indicated Haines was waving the knife at her husband Mike Haines when Carpenter unexpectedly walked up behind her and was accidentally stabbed.
Prosecutors say they now believe Connie Haines was mad at her husband and was threatening to kill him with the knife when Carpenter tried to break up the altercation and was stabbed.
Haines faces from four years to life in prison if convicted.
