MOSCOW (AP) _ For the fourth straight year, Oklahoma star Courtney Paris has won a gold medal in international competition. Paris had six points, seven rebounds and four assists Sunday as the U.S. team beat Australia 96-to-73 in the championship game of the under-21 women's basketball World Championships in Moscow.
The U.S. teams on which Paris has played the past four years have gone undefeated.
Paris no longer will be eligible to play age-group basketball for the U.S. and now must compete for a spot on the U.S. Senior National Team. She is currently part of a pool of players for that squad.
She will return to training with the senior team in September as the squad prepares for the Americas Championship in Chile, which will be held September 25th through 29th.
