LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) _ Texas Tech coach Bob Knight has been reprimanded by the Big 12 for comments about officiating after a December 15th loss to New Mexico.
The public reprimand is over Knight arguing about Lobos freshman Dairese Gary's one-handed 47-footer at the halftime buzzer to give New Mexico a 44-26 lead.
Knight didn't think Gary released the shot in time.
After the game, Knight said, quote: ``I thought it was a horrendous call.''
The league says Knight's comment violated the Big 12's sportsmanship code, which prohibits public comments about officiating.
Knight and his spokesman couldn't immediately be reached for comment Wednesday.
New Mexico beat Tech 80-63, giving Lobos coach Steve Alford his second win over the coach he played for at Indiana.
