Some kids at Greeley Elementary School in north Tulsa received a surprise gift on Wednesday. During the holiday program, teachers talked with kids about the joy of giving. Then, they surprised 33 students with a new bicycle and helmet courtesy Academy Sports and Outdoors.
The Greeley students were chosen for academic achievement, good conduct and attendance. The principal says, for many, this was their first bike.
"I just wish we could have given each one of them one, but we just thank God for the blessing we received,†said Dr. Peggy Owens, Greeley principal.
Academy donates more than 1,300 bikes and helmets to elementary schools in 50 cities.
