OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- A friend of the teenage gunman who shot and killed eight people in a Nebraska mall earlier this week has been arrested. Police say the friend threatened to kill a teenage girl who had made remarks about gunman Robert Hawkins that offended his friend.
Police say the teen, arrested Thursday, is being held in a juvenile detention center on suspicion of making terroristic threats. Police found a rifle and two shotguns at the teen's house, weapons he was able to access.
Nine people, including the gunman, were killed in Wednesday's shooting. Police say they have found no connections between Hawkins and the six employees and two shoppers he killed.
